In celebration of Asian-Pacific Heritage month, the Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans (CAPM) held its annual dinner to honor the accomplishments Asian Americans contribute to our community and the state.
On May 9, 2014, at the Oakdale Prom Center, Dr. David Ong, then FMA President, received the prestigious Community Leadership Award. He has championed many worthy causes that included health, education and the arts, and many social justice issues. David is most proud of his missionary work in Guatemala and in the Philippines. Since 2005, he has been serving the indigent people of the Philippines, providing dental work. Last January, he visited the typhoon-struck province of Tacloban, Philippines and provided dental and socio-civic service. He is looking forward to serve, once again, during the next mission.
David has 2 children - Rock and Nico, a wonderful and supportive wife, Kristina, and their loyal dog, Kenny.
