Minnesota Medical Mission of Mercy (4M) presents Plaque to FMA
By: Virgie Carlson
On August 17, 2014, Minnesota Medical Mission of Mercy (4M) presented two plaques to the Fil-Minnesotan Association (FMA).
Dodge Flores (left), and Jocelyn Quebral (middle) hold two plaques presented by 4M.
The plaque Dodge Flores is holding is from the Governor of Northern Samar, Governor Jose Ong Jr acknowledging 4M for conducting a successful medical mission in Laoang, Northern Samar. Since FMA sponsored the mission, members of 4M thought it appropriate that FMA keep the plaque as a token of gratitude from the people of Laoang.
The plaque Jocelyn Quebral is holding is from the members of 4M thanking FMA. Because of the support of FMA as well as donations from other organizations and friends, the medical mission helped and treated a total of 2408 patients in five days as follows:
Medical and pediatrics = 1340
Minor surgeries = 143
Major surgeries = 8
Pairs of eye glasses distributed =827
Referrals to Northern Samar Provincial Hospital (NSPH), Catarman = 90
Both plaques were presented by Virgie Carlson at her residence during a get-together party with 4M members, sponsors and donors.
