FMA is offering a preparation course for students taking the ACT. Students in their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year in high school are encouraged to take this course in preparation for their college applications. FMA is offering this course at a significant discount to other ACT preparation courses.

OVERVIEW
This six session course, taught by Eileen Shannon, M.Ed., will provide prospective ACT exam participants an opportunity to enhance their possibility of success by learning test taking strategies in the areas of:
Mathematics, Science, Reading and English. This will be done through:
- Instructor lectures
- Exam exercises / practical application / strategy exercises
- Practice examinations and evaluations of results
This course is not intended to teach subject content, but rather provide students with strategic approaches to taking the ACT examination.
**A maximum number of 15 students may participate in this course.**

This course will be 6 sessions. The sessions will be held on Saturday mornings starting at 10:00am on the third floor of the Philippine Center of Minnesota (PCM)

REGISTRATION FEE
Cost for the course will be $100.00. However, if students attend all sessions and raise their exam score by two points from the first to the second exam, a percentage of the course will be granted back to the student in the form of a scholarship (Unfortunately, FMA can make no exception to this criteria).
Additionally, due to the extensive course information that will be provided to the students, it is highly recommended that students attend all sessions.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Eileen Shannon earned her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oregon and an M.Ed. degree in Curriculum and instruction from the University of Minnesota. She holds a current Minnesota State Teaching License. Over the last 25 years, Eileen has taught public school in Special Education, 3rd grade, Middle School and all grades in substitute positions. She also spent 10 years as a Lead Teacher and Director of Education at Sylvan Learning where she developed her skills as an AST Prep Instructor. Currently, Eileen is an Academic Instructor at HHH Job Corps in St. Paul helping young adults earn high school diplomas, GED's and employability skills. Her specialties include working with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures and accommodating individual learning needs.
